Cheap Scotty Cameron Studio Style Newport 2.5 Putter
Recently, my putting has gone through a poor spell and I felt very unconfident with the Newport. The putter gives a very soft and blunt hit on a putt. On fast greens this can be a great advantage but I found since using other putters, that this is unique to the Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport.
The is no doubt that the scotty cameron newport is one of the most popular and most attractive looking putters out at the moment. I bought the Newport 2.5 about a year ago and it was the perfect putter, sits very well behind the ball and the overall look and construction of the putter is second to none.
The Studio Stainless collection is the newest generation of putters from Scotty's Studio. Milled entirely from 303-stainless steel, these putters have a distinct sound and feel, and are virtually maintenance free. The graphics and red color scheme are inspired by Scotty's interest in 50's era design. Studio Stainless putters include different hosel positions, slightly wider soles for a confidence inspiring setup, sole draft angles to ensure the putter never sits closed and a bead blasted finish to eliminate glare.
They are distinguished by their bright silver, satin buff finish, unique sole graphics and come with the popular Studio Design grip and atomic red headcover with pivot tool. A pure, high grade machined inlay of German Stainless Steel(r) (GSS) is attached to the precision milled Studio Stainless Steel body through a special vibration pad, and the entire inlay is surrounded by an elastomer cushion to further enhance the soft feel.
The Studio Stainless design gives a very clean look which remains after months of use and doesn't require much upkeep like some other Scotty Cameron models. There was also a significant focus on the importance of safety within course design that may not have been ranked so highly for previous generations, presumably because of the inferior equipment and the shorter distances the golf ball was travelling.
I think it is a very hit or miss putter, if you are a confident putter it could be everything you need on and around the greens but if you struggle with putting and are looking for a saviour, the Newport is not for you.
